Foot Facts
The foot has a lot going on. IT has 26 bones, 33 joints, and over a hundred muscles, tendons & ligaments, all working together to bear weight, allow for us to walk jump dance and play. All of this should allow for more mobility, stability and strength.
Too often we bound our feet up into shoes and use them as a single unit not allowing for all of the movement and articulation that was meant to happen. The muscle chains in our legs also end in the feet. So when we don’t use our feet properly we affect those muscles too!
If you think of it like a building your feet are the foundation of your structure. You want your foundation strong and aligned and working properly so the rest of the building can have a solid support. If your foundation is faulty your whole building is affected! Same with our feet! Once our feet are more aligned and working properly the rest of our alignment is better and functions better as well!
Integrate these simple exercises you learned into your daily life, even 5 minutes a day can help so much! Try it out before and after the next time you go to a show or plan to dance away the day or night!
